Director H. Vinoth has confirmed that Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Vijay Thalapathy’s ‘Jana Nayagan’ could return to theatres next week with six deleted scenes added to the film. Speaking about the possibility, Vinoth said that the scenes were removed during the final edit to keep the runtime in check. Following the film’s release, there was pressure from fans to include the edited sections, which led to talks about their return to theaters. He stated that the new edition is being planned; nevertheless, the ultimate decision lies with the producers. Comedy, Action and Emotional Sequences Vinoth revealed that the deleted footage consists of six scenes covering different emotions and genres. “There are six deleted scenes,” he said, adding that the extended version includes two comedy scenes featuring Vijay, two action sequences and two emotional scenes . According to the director, the scenes were not dropped because of quality concerns. They were removed only during the editing process to maintain the film's pacing and runtime. If approved, audiences will be able to watch the revised version in theatres from next week. The decision comes after fans called for more screen time for Thalapathy following the film's release, as it is his final film. Producers Yet to Take Final Call While assuring that the scenes have been set right, Vinoth added that their inclusion in theaters depends on the approval of the producers and the technical procedure for upgrading the film in the theaters. Though receiving a mixed response , Jana Nayagan has proved to be one of the most discussed Tamil movies of the year because of Vijay’s fandom and his association with the movie. Provided the project goes on as planned, the expanded film will feature six more scenes that were filmed in the first place, but which had to be cut in the theatrical edition of the movie. These scenes include elements of comedy, action, and emotion that are bound to make people happy to return to theatres once again.
